Activities of Lodges for the period ending 31st October 2004
1. Lodge Southern Cross No. 46 Palayamkottai
No Ceremony conducted.
2. Lodge Trivandrum No. 168 Thiruvananthapuram
On the 6th of October an emergency meeting was held to
enable The Past Grand Master M.W.Bro.John L.Choa, of the Grand
Lodge of Philippines to visit the Lodge. He was felicitated by
the WM and brethren of the three Lodges in Trivandrum as well
as that of Lodge Minchin No.2710 E.C. W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj ARGM
was present and offered his felicitations. The regular meeting
was a historic one, where the WM initiated his son Bro.Anind Ben
Roy an engineer by profession, in a very memorable ceremony. The
ARGM W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj was present and delivered the charge after
initiation.
3. Lodge Kottayam No. 245 Kottayam
Raising Ceremony of Bro.Dr.Suresh Ninan.
4. Lodge Vivekananda No. 254 Kanyakumari
Bro.Dr.Madhavan Pillai and Bro.M.P.Clement were raised in a very
solemn and impressive ceremony conducted by a visiting team of
brethren of Lodge Coromandel, Vishakapatanam, led by W.Bro.Harish
Naik, the IPM who was the best master of the region.
5. Lodge Vanchinad No. 273 Kollam
Raising Ceremony of Bro.K.Harsha Kumar.
6. Lodge Alleppey No. 275 Alleppey
Initiation Ceremony of Bro.R.Krishnan. On the 30th of
October the Lodge conducted a Divine Service.

7. Lodge Ananthapadmanabha No. 280 Trivandrum
Raising ceremony of K.P.Balakrishnan Nair.
8. Lodge Tamiravarni No. 289 Tirunelveli
Passing Ceremony of Bro. M.Kanagasabapathi and Bro.Nayan
Singh.
9. Lodge Pearl City No. 290 Thoothukudi
An emergency meeting was held on the 1st of October and
Bro.E.Kathiresan was initiated. The ARGM W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj, delivered
the charge after initiation. The brethren from Lodge Accountants,
Chennai led by their WM did the passing ceremony of Bro.S.Balaji.
The ARGM of Chennai area W.Bro.B.Kamakoti was present and gave
the charge after passing. The festive board was very lively with
the visiting brethren providing excellent entertainment. Earlier
in the afternoon the ARGM met a group of ladies, wives of masons
and urged them to form a ladies forum for the Lodge. Premi Sushil
Past Chairperson of the Ladies of the Fraternity, Trivandrum was
also present and enlightened them about their functioning. On
the 29th of October, the Lodge inaugurated a Ladies forum, laid
the foundation for the new temple and consecrated a new Royal
Arch Chapter.

10. Lodge Aruvi No. 293 Courtallam
No regular meeting during the month.
11. Lodge Palai No. 318 Palai
No ceremony done.
12. Lodge Travancore No. 329 Thiruvananthapuram.
The initiation ceremony of Bro. Sunit Fenn, was done,
by the team of brethren from Lodge Coromandel, Vishakapatanam
led by their IPM and the best Master of the region in the year
2003, W.Bro.Harish Nayak. The ARGM W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj, R.W.Bro.K.R.Rajasekharan
Nayar and many visiting brethren from lodges far and near were
present. The brethren from Lodge Coromandel who were visiting
the area were hosted in the homes of the WM, W.Bro.S.M.Ashraf,
IPM, W.Bro. Dr.P.Balachandran and W.Bro.Renny Koipuram.

Report on
the visit of M.W. The Grand Master and R.W. The Regional Grand
Master to the area on 29th and 30th of October, 2004
Tuticorin 29th October,2004
M.W. The Grand Master MW. Bro.Arun Chintopanth OSM and R.W.The
Regional Grand Master RW.Bro.Dr.B.Biswakumar arrived at Tuticorin
on 29th October forenoon.
The Pearl City Masons' Wives Forum was inaugurated by MW the GM
at 1.00 pm. RW The RGM and W.The ARGM, felicitated. Mrs.Subhashini
Krishnan wife the WM was elected the President and Mrs.Shilpam
Rathore was elected the secretary. The meeting was well attended
by a good number of brethren from Lodge Pearl City and other visiting
brethren from far and near.
In the evening MW the GM laid the foundation stone for the new
temple of Lodge Pearl City in a prominent location in Tuticorin.
R.W The RGM, many Grand Officers from far and near, the ARGM and
many visiting brethren were present to witness the solemn ceremony,
very impressively conducted by MW the GM.
Chapter Pearl City No.111 was consecrated that evening by ME the
First Grand Principal and his consecrating team. ME The Grand
Superintendent installed E.Comp. Rajasekharan Kamak as the founder
MEZ of the Chapter.
The WM of Lodge Pearl City W.Bro.S.Krishnan deserves all praises
for the excellent arrangements, hospitality and proper conduct
of the programmes.
Alleppey 30th October 2004
RW the RGM had to leave for Chennai due some pressing
emergencies in his profession at dawn. MW the GM, the ARGM and
a team of GLI officers left for Alleppey from Tuticorin in the
morning. They had a very scenic drive through the Western Ghats,
from the east coast to the west coast.
There was very good audience for the Divine Service very solemnly
conducted by MW the GM. The address of RW the RGM was given by
the ARGM. After the divine service MW the GM had an informal chat
with the ladies and answered all their queries regarding Freemasonry.
Many brethren from Kottayam, Cochin and nearby lodges were present.

Report on
the visit of Wor. The Assistant Regional Grand Master to the half
yearly meeting of RGL of Western India on 9th October 2004
RW The RGM had given the rare honour to our ARGM
W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj to represent him at the RGL meeting (special
meeting) of the RGL of Western India on the 9th of October at
Daman. ARGM W.Bro.R.Sushil Raj was received with all the due honours
as the representative of the senior most RGM of the GLI , by R.W.
Bro. Govindlal Sahu the RGM of WI. MW the GM, M.W. Bro.Arun Chintopanth
OSM , RW.Bro. Somesh Sen Gupta RW the RGM of Eastern India, R.W.Bro.V.K.Bhutani,
the RGM of NI , The Deputy District Grand Master of Bombay (EC),
Past GMs, M.W Bro.G.R.Divan OSM, M.W Bro.Dilip Udeshi OSM and
other senior brethren from GLI were present.
Wor. the ARGM addressed the RGL at the invitation of the RGM and
offered greetings of our RGM and the region. He also thanked our
RGM RW Bro.Dr.B.Biswakumar for giving him this great and unique
honour to represent him for the meeting. He also thanked RW Bro.Shyam
Nandalal Wadhwani for driving him from Mumbai to Daman. W.Bro.D.Santhikumar
also accompanied the ARGM for the meeting as part of the GL deputation.
On the 10th of October W. the ARGM had an opportunity to be received
along with The RGM of WI to the silver jubilee meeting of Lodge
Dr.Sarosh Bhacca No.229, Surat.
Wor. the ARGM would like to place on record his grateful thanks
to R.W.Bro.Dr. Balaram Biswakumar for giving him this great opportunity
to represent him and also the RGM of WI and the brethren of the
RGL of WI for the excellent hospitality extended to him.
The sad ending to the memorable meeting was the demise of RW the
RGM of EI, R.W Bro. Somesh Sen Gupta on his way back home from
the RGL meeting on the 11th of October. We pray for his departed
soul.
