W.Bro.Dr. [Capt.] Vivek.V Nair was born on the 15th of December 1966. His father was N.Velayudhan Nair who retired from Kerala Government Service as Deputy Chief Architect, PWD and his mother Smt. Valsala Nair.
Vivek had commenced his formal education at Mannam Memorial Residential HS, Trivandrum till the 10th Standard and did the Pre-degree course at Govt.Arts college, Trivandrum. He pursued his professional studies at Government Dental College. After securing his BDS and the compulsory internship he joined the Army Dental Corps in 1991 as Lieutenant Dental Officer. |

Dr [Capt.] Vivek. V, who was Officer commanding MILITARY DENTAL CENTER, Trivandrum, in 1996, then left the Army and enrolled in the Govt. Dental College for the Post Graduate Course, MDS (Oralmedicine& Radiology) which he secured in the year 2000. Vivek’s varied career included a stint with Kerala Government as well, when he worked with the Health Services for a year after his Post Graduation. He joined the private sector, primarily into teaching with an impressive array of Institutions which bear witness to his academic excellence. He was Professor and Head of the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at the PMS College of Dental Science and Research, Trivandrum for a period of twelve years.
Dr. Vivek has established his own Dr. Vivek`s Dental Clinic at Trivandrum in 1999, and it is now one of the premier centers for dental consultation in the City. Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, Amritha Viswa Vidya Peedham, Kochi, The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai, Bharathiar University, Pondicherry University are a few of educational institutions availing his academic capabilities as an examiner for Degree and Post Graduate studies.
Dissertations, Thesis and other technical papers published by Dr. Vivekin and national and international journals are too many to be enumerated here. He was the Editor of Trivandrum Dental Journal, The Probe - the news letter of IDA, ‘HEALTH SCIENCES’an e-journal of Kerala University, JMFSR - the Official Journal of PMS College of Dental Science & Research, Trivandrum, and ‘TRIVANDRUM DENTAL JOURNAL’. Dr.Vivek is a member of several National Boards of Studies and Academic Councils. He was also serving as a member of the Editorial Board of a host of peer- reviewed academic journals in the country. Despite his academic preoccupations don’t be surprised if you find him in Trivandrum Club or SreeMoolam Club relaxing with his family and friends! That’s Dr. Vivek!
Dr. Vivek is married to Dr. Bindu J. Nair. Dr. Bindu was Professor and Head of the Department Oral Pathology at PMS College of Dental Science and Research and also KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode, before she started working in the family owned Dr. Vivek’s Dental Clinic. The consultant Dentist couple has a daughter, Dr. Ambica V. Nair; a graduate from Trivandrum Medical College is nowa resident in Internal Medicine at New Jersey, USA.
Dr. Capt. Vivek V. Nair was initiated in Lodge Trivandrum No.168 on the 9th of March 2014. He has occupied every office in the Lodge before getting elected as Worshipful Master for the current year. He is a member of the Order of Mark Master Masons, Holy Royal Arch Chapter and Royal Ark Mariner’s Lodge. |
